Lockie:
Hi, I’m Lockie, and I am 12 and ¾ years old, almost 13. I have just started high school Angelus Senior High School, I love surfing and my Dad is the new policeman in town. I have a little brother Phillip, who wets his bed, even though he doesn’t drink for hours; a mum, who wants to get too serious about me growing up (she gave me a book about sex just because I’d started high school!); and then there’s my Dad, he’s a cop. On my first day of school he picked me up from the bus bay and turned on his siren and lights in front of everyone. I wanted to die of embarrassment. “The first day of school and my life is over.”
Lockie- Vicki:
Vicky Streeton, the prettiest, smarted and richest girl in school. I think Vicky is a very amazing girl. She is a really nice person but I’m not too sure about her personality, and where she wants to go with a relationship’.
I think Vicky likes me, and of course I like her as well! We started talking at first and now it has transformed into a relationship, that half the school knows about! Vicky always wants to be close and personal and I thought I was too young and plus, six months ago, we were still in primary school! I thought Vicky was my best friend but I didn’t want to get too far in this relationship thing. I thought Vicky didn’t even know anything about what she wants. I thought love meant something different t both of us. Vicky hated being 13, so I think she wants to grow up much quicker than she thinks.
Lockie and Vicki’s relationship:
Vicky and I have a great relationship. When I first saw her I was like, She is walking over to me! It was the first time Vicky Streeton had ever seen me, and it was definitely the first time she had ever talked to me!
Then it was the first time I had ever got a kiss, a kiss from a girl! And by the next day, everyone already knew about it.
“Lockie’s in LOVE!”
It was then after school, in the playground. We held hands, until I popped out the dumbest question…”Vicky? Do you want kids? Immediately I knew she was off me, but luckily I kept it cool, and changed the topic of the conversation.
Then suddenly she was thinking the same of me. She said, “Lockie, its over.” I felt, we were too young to be getting in a relationship like this, so I said, “Vick, we don’t have to be romantic or anything, but we still like each other” But before I knew it, this was totally over. “I’m finished with you. No friends stuff… alright?”
I felt happy the next morning, I love surfing and now in my life, I feel that that is what makes me special. Family and friends.
